Dr. Kim McHugh was born and raised in Sunny Southern California. She is a wife to her best friend and partner Christopher and mother to two naturally vibrant daughters, Ada and Clara.
Dr. Kim attended Cal State University of Fullerton and Cleveland Chiropractic College with an emphasis in Human Biology, prior to entering the July 2011 class at Life Chiropractic College West.
Chiropractic school has afforded Dr. Kim a wealth of knowledge and resources to lead by example and live an active and drugless lifestyle. Dr. Kim was called to serve her student community by serving as Vice President of the student council, as well as President of the student California Chiropractic Association(CCA).
Dr. Kim completed the Pediatric and Pregnancy Certification through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) shortly after the birth of their daughter under the care of two midwives and support from Chris. This experience deepened her understanding of the importance of a healthy pregnancy and birth. Kim has completed even more training in pediatrics through the Epic Pediatric training program.
There are a variety of low force techniques Kim will offer to her patients, including: Sacro-Occipital Technique, Drop Table Technique, Webster Technique, and the Logan Technique.
Dr. Kim has authored case studies and research papers supporting her work with pregnant women, and aspires to have these published. She has also begun a book regarding her approach to prenatal care.
Dr. Kim and Dr. Chris met in Chiropractic School, got married in June 2013, and in December 2014, walked across stage along with their daughter, Ada, earning the Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Drs. Kim and Chris have led a series of community educational talks regarding the benefits of Chiropractic care to pregnant women, babies and children.
Dr. Kim is excited to pursue her passion of facilitating health in pregnancies and children in Del Mar and the surrounding areas.
